What is Explore More Illinois?

Explore More Illinois is a cultural pass program that allows Illinois public library cardholders access discounts at museums, park districts, historical societies, zoos, arts centers, recreational facilities, and other attractions.

How do I access Explore More Illinois?

Your library should have a link to Explore More Illinois from their website. You can also go directly to https://exploremore.quipugroup.net and choose their home library from the drop down menu. Enter your library barcode and password or PIN.

How can I search for offers?

Once you are logged in, you will see offers for the upcoming three months. You can also search for offers by date, attraction name, or location. Information about each attraction and the offer is available before making the reservation. 

How can I make a reservation?

Reservations must be made for a specific date. Using the calendar, you can choose what date you want to make the reservation for and then choose the Reserve option under the attraction. A confirmation box will appear, and a confirmation email will be sent to the patron. You have the option of printing out a pass at that time, or they can choose to print it out later.

Can I cancel a reservation?

You can cancel a reservation before you print or download a pass. 

I cannot log into Explore More Illinois. What should I do?

Please call or visit your library. You may have an issue with your account, such as an expired card or fines. Your library will assist you in solving the problem.

How many reservations can a patron have at one time?

You can have two active reservations at one time. Once one of the reservation dates has past, you can make another reservation.

 Can children make reservations?

Adults 18 and over can make reservations in Explore More Illinois. Photo ID must be shown on at the attraction on the day of the reservation.

Can patrons make a reservation for the same attraction more than once?

Attractions can limit how many times a patron can make a reservation. If you are out of reservations, they will not see the offer when you log into Explore More Illinois.

Will patrons get a reminder about their reservation?

Yes, you will get a reminder email three days before your reservation.

What do you need to bring to the attraction on the day of the reservation?

You will need to bring a photo ID and either a smartphone with the pass available on the phone or a printed copy of the pass. Some attractions require a printed copy, and that will be indicated when the you make the reservation.

What is Explore More Illinois?

Explore More Illinois is a cultural pass program that allows Illinois public library cardholders access discounts at museums, park districts, historical societies, zoos, arts centers, recreational facilities, and other attractions.

Explore More Illinois is free for all Illinois public libraries.

What information do you need from the library to join?

Please have the library director send an email of intent to join Explore More Illinois to info@exploremoreillinois.org. We will also need the library to fill out the form at www.exploremoreillinois.org. It includes technical information so we can have your ILS connect with the Explore More Illinois software.

My library is not automated or uses a small ILS. Can we still be part of Explore More Illinois?

We are working on a solution for non automated and small ILS libraries. We will let you know as soon as we will be accepting these libraries into the program.

How do patrons access Explore More Illinois?

We will be sending participating libraries the Explore More Illinois logo their own URL (for example, https://exploremoreftware.quipugroup.net/?Fountaindale) that they can use to link to from their own website. Patrons can also go directly to https://exploremore.quipugroup.net and choose their home library from the drop down menu. Patrons can then enter their library barcode and password or PIN.

A patron cannot access Explore More Illinois. What should I do?

As part of the Explore More Illinois set up process, libraries let us know if patrons should be blocked from logging into the software if they have certain blocks or fines on their account. Please check to make sure the patron is in good standing. If a patron continues to have issues logging in, please email info@exploremoreillinois.org.

How many reservations can a patron have at one time?

Each patron can have two active reservations at one time. Once one of the reservation dates has past, they can make another reservation.

Can children make reservations?

Because we are working with multiple libraries and integrated library systems, we have tried our best to ensure that only adult patrons (18 and older) can place reservations. If you notice that juvenile patrons are able to place reservations, please contact info@exploremoreillinois.org and we can work on the issue together.

Can patrons make a reservation for the same attraction more than once?

Attractions can limit how many times a patron can make a reservation. If a patron is out of reservations, they will not see the offer when the log into Explore More Illinois.

Where can I find a list of participating attractions?

A list is kept at https://exploremoreillinois.org/library_info. However, attractions are being added and edited all the time, so the list may not be accurate.

I know a great attraction in my area. How can they be part of Explore More Ilinois?

Please let us know at info@exploremoreillinois.org. If you have a name and contact information of someone in the organization, please include the information in the email.
